U.S. District Court Judge Susan Oki Mollway says the rail route is all wrong in a July 8 letter blasting the project.

Mollway said the 20-mile rail line that will run from Kapolei to Ala Moana Mall should go to the University of Hawaii at Manoa, which was what was initially proposed.

“The project doesn’t go anywhere near the UH-Manoa campus,” Mollway wrote in her letter addressed to the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation and Federal Transit Administration. “Instead, it goes to the Ala Moana Shopping Center!”

The Star-Advertiser has the story and the letter here.
