HuffPost Hawaii is a Honolulu-based news website. It is a partnership between Civil Beat and The Huffington Post.

The site launched Sept. 5, 2013 and offers a robust report of Hawaii news and features aimed at both local readers and national and international audiences who might be interested in Hawaii.

Civil Beat has become well-known for its investigative and watchdog reporting and its news stories frequently anchor HuffPost Hawaii’s main news report. But the partnership also brings a new focus on Hawaii’s culture, well-being and lifestyle, leisure and hospitality, as well as the arts and entertainment.

HuffPost Hawaii, like other Huffington Post sections, encourages local residents to join the civic conversation through an active blogging community. Local bloggers write about everything from hot-button issues, politics, business and environment, to restaurants and food, to life in the islands. If you’re interested in blogging drop a note to hawaiiblogs@huffingtonpost.com.

The site is staffed by three associate editors. They are active in social media and engage the community in issues through regular postings to Facebook and Twitter.
