As I mentioned the other week (New Look for Civil Beat Coming Soon), we’ve been working on a new version of the site and I’m happy to say that we’re ready to unveil the new site.
If you’re one of those who doesn’t like surprises, here’s a screen shot of the new front page (partial screen shot). Yes, that beige section in the middle is where the photo for our lead story will reside (for you visual folks). You probably noticed a new Civil Beat logo. We also pulled up the most recent comments. Those are just a few of the changes you’ll see.
We’re still working out the final details, but the good news is that the “to do” list is getting shorter and shorter by the hour. So short that the current plan is to go live late Monday night.
A huge thank you to Mark Quezada and Ryan Kanno for making this happen. Mark and Ryan are always behind the scenes and don’t like much attention, but if you like what you see don’t be afraid to give them a pat on the back.
So when you wake up on Tuesday morning, a new and, we believe, improved Civil Beat will be waiting for you. We’ll keep making improvements, so please let us know what you think!
UPDATE (Aug 25, 2010 5 a.m. HST): The new site was rolled out last night. Thanks to everyone for their patience during the rollout!
