Here’s an inconvenience:

Kalakaua Avenue will be completely closed for about 20 minutes between 11 a.m. and noon today.

The city of Honolulu needs to shut down the popular Waikiki thoroughfare to move some heavy machinery that will be used for erosion control at Kuhio Beach.

Work will actually take place from about 10 p.m. to midnight to coincide with low tide.

The makai lane of Kalakaua will be closed from 7:30 p.m. to about 3:30 a.m. Friday.
