As the political season shifts from the Legislature to the campaigns, Civil Beat is pleased to welcome Democratic gubernatorial candidate state Sen. David Ige for our next Civil Cafe. Expect a lively conversation between Sen. Ige and our chief political reporter, Chad Blair, about the governor’s race, the state budget, and other important issues facing Hawaii over the next four years.

But Chad shouldn’t be the only one to ask questions. We want you to participate as well. The last 30 minutes of the conversation will be dedicated to audience questions. So step up to the microphone or, if you can’t join us in person, tweet your queries with the hashtag #CivilCafe and we’ll share those with the senator.

This Civil Cafe will take place at Fresh Cafe in Kakaako (831 Queen Street) beginning at 6 p.m. sharp on Thursday, May 22.

Olelo will broadcast the conversation live and you can catch a livestream on our website as well.

We’re pleased to offer this opportunity for candidate Ige to meet with our community and explain his agenda for the state and why voters should support him. Please RSVP here if you would like to join us.
