John Pritchett: Underwater In More Ways Than One - Honolulu Civil Beat

We need to raise $75,000 by September 1 to ensure that our newsroom remains strong during this time when accurate and in-depth information is needed the most. While asking for your donation is not something we like to do, the simple fact is that our reporters, our journalism, and our impact rely on it. If you are in a position to help, we would be grateful for your support!

We've raised $25,000 toward our $75,000 campaign goal!

John Pritchett: The Ballot Box In 2020

Before you go…

During a crisis like this, it’s more important than ever to dig beyond the news, to figure out what government policies mean for ordinary citizens and how those policies were put together.

This is perhaps the biggest, most consequential story our reporters will ever cover. And at no other time in Civil Beat’s history have we relied on your support more. Please consider supporting Civil Beat by making a tax-deductible gift.

With what I have heard regarding many of the buildings along the rail route through downtown not being built to handle the rattling and shaking every time it goes by, makes stopping it at Middle St a no brainer!  Although tilting buildings, if they remain standing, could be a good tourist attraction ; )

Wasn't that always the main objective?  Build rail from the easiest location as fast as possible before taxpayers knew what hit em, then use the excuse that we are too far along to stop the project?
