Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell is set to host more than 200 mayors from cities across the nation beginning June 28 to discuss the health of America’s urban centers.

Over four days, the United States Conference of Mayors will be attended by leaders of cities including Boston, Miami and New Orleans as well as Hilo Mayor Harry Kim, Kauai Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami, and Maui Michael Victorino.

The event at the Hilton Hawaiian Village will be the first time since 1963 that the organization holds its annual meeting in Honolulu.

Sponsored by Airbnb, the conference will address a wide range of issues with talks by mayors and subject matter experts and includes a visit to the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor.

Caldwell will speak on panels about challenges coastal cities face amid climate change; how governments, philanthropists and the private sector can work to reduce homelessness; and the city and state’s goal to use 100% renewable energy.
