The executive committee of the Libertarian Party of Hawaii today said they condemn the actions of federal authorities in their “handling, charging and incarceration” of Roger Christie, the Hilo pot minister.

“We believe that these actions against Mr. Christie were politically motivated and the denial of bail a violation of his constitutional rights,” states a press release.

The press release includes seven points in Christie’s defense, including this one:

As libertarians we fully support the rights of persons to grow, sell, distribute, and use marijuana. We support the change of legislation, policy and regulations at all levels of government to bring this about.
