They include Christine Sakuda as Hawaii’s chief information officer.

Just one month after Hawaii Chief Information Officer Doug Murdock retired from public service, a replacement has been named.

On Friday Gov. Josh Green said Christine Sakuda will be the state’s new CIO. For the past seven years she has been executive director of the nonprofit Transform Hawaii Government.

Green also appointed Barbara Polk and Danton Wong to serve on the Campaign Spending Commission, Andrew Pereira to the Stadium Authority and Debbie Cabebe to the Hawaii Community Development Authority Pulehunui.

Polk is a former policy and planning officer at University of Hawaii, Wong is a former chair of the Hawaii Strategic Development Corporation, Pereira is currently the director of public affairs for Pacific Resource Partnership and Cabebe has been the CEO of Maui Economic Opportunity since 2017.

Most of the appointments are effective Monday. Sakuda begins her new role Aug. 5.
