Mazie Hirono, the only immigrant serving in the U.S. Senate, denounced Donald Trump’s positions on immigration Tuesday on MSNBC.

Asked if the Republican presidential candidate’s views are “softening,” as is being reported, the Hawaii Democrat said Trump’s recent shift is “fake” because he has been making anti-immigrant comments “for months and months now.”

‘“His notions about immigration are very bizarre, to say the least,” she said.

Those notions include wanting to deport 11 million illegal immigrants in the country, disallowing Muslims from coming into the U.S. and building a wall along the nation’s southern border.

“He has managed to insult every group, including most recently the Filipinos, who he called animals,” said Hirono.

Hirono said there is only one presidential candidate, Democrat Hillary Clinton, that supports comprehensive immigration reform.

“We can’t trust someone who change his mind literally at the drop of a hat, or in this case, at the drop of the polls,” she said.
