Sen. Daniel Inouye, environmentalist Jane Goodall and Apple founder Steve Jobs are among those that the AARP is honoring with its annual Inspire Awards.
In a December 2011 magazine, the AARP gives Inouye the nickname “chief compromiser,” and recognizes the senator for a “decades-long commitment to common courtesy.”
Other recipients include Pat Summit, the Tennessee Lady Vols basketball coach and Emilio Estefan, a promoter of Latino music.
