Okino: Anti-Rail Poll Results Don’t Undo Years of Planning

Former Council member and city planner Gary Okino resurfaces today with an op-ed in the Star-Advertiser to extoll the virtues of rail and remind everyone of the lengthy process the city went through to arrive at this particular solution.

It’s a rebuttal against the poll results that show a majority of Oahu voters now oppose the project. Here’s a key graf:

A single isolated snapshot of opinion should not be seized on as an excuse to second-guess the wisdom of rail transit or the years of planning and input that have gone into making it a reality.
