Here’s a look at what Sen. Daniel Akaka has planned for Wednesday, according to a spokesman:

• Senate prayer breakfast

Steering Committee meeting with the Hispanic Task Force on the state of the Latin American economy.

• Meeting with students and teachers visiting from Kauai High School and Waimea High School.

• Speaking to the National Congress of American Indians, the largest American Indian group and one of the senator’s last speeches to the group before his 2012 retirement.

• Reception for high school delegates in the 2012 U.S. Senate Youth Program — the senator has attended this reception every year since 1991, his spokesman said.

UPDATED March 7, 2012 at 12:21 p.m.: Instead of attending an Alaska Federation of Natives reception in honor of Alaska Rep. Don Young, Akaka will host a meeting with members of the Federation in his office.
