California Teen Bitten By Shark Off Maui

Maui County officials say a 16-year-old girl from Livermore, Calif. has reportedly been bitten by a shark in waters of Kahana. The beach has been closed until this evening.

KITV reports: 

It happened at the beach fronting the Hololani Resort just before 10 a.m.

When crews arrived, they found the girl with a 4-to-5-inch tear on her left calf.  Fire personnel provided medical treatment and dressed the wound.  She was conscious and able to talk.
