The Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources is warning people to stay out of the waters off Pahoa on the Big Island where a whale carcass is decomposing.
Numerous tiger sharks are feeding off of the 50-foot whale, which state and federal officials are trying to remove, KHON reports.
State and federal agencies are working with a private marine salvage company to remove the foul-smelling carcass. The public is warned to stay out of the water until three days after the carcass is removed.
