Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell today announced his plans for repaving Oahu’s roads.
Keep in mind that road maintenance requires long term planning and there’s a 2 to 3 year lag from planning to paving. So you’re seeing Peter Carlisle’s administration’s road plans roll out around now even though Caldwell has just taken office. And vice versa — during Carlisle’s time in office, road work underway had been planned out by Mufi Hannemann and Caldwell.
