There are 8,711 pesticides licensed for use in Hawaii. The licenses cover everything from Roundup and bug repellent to lice medicine and flea treatment for pets.

A quick look at a few controversial chemical giants shows Syngenta holds 166 licenses alone, German chemical maker BASF has 94 licenses and Monsanto has 57 licenses.
