The owners of the Rock & Brews Restaurant planned for Paia town will hold a public informational meeting and open house from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Paia Community Center.
The restaurant owners and project team will be on hand to share information and answer questions.
Merchants and residents have expressed mixed feelings about the eatery, which on the Mainland carries a rock ‘n’ roll theme with rocker Gene Simmons as one of its partners.
The Paia restaurant’s representatives say that the Maui restaurant will not be a “cookie-cutter” version of their restaurants and will include Hawaiian musicians. The building design will include wood details and planters out front, different from the initial design posted at the site that included a “fire-engine-red” steel building. Read the full story.
