Our partners at HuffPost Hawaii are reporting on the huge outcry over the capture of a huge tiger shark in Honokohau Harbor on the Big Island.

According to Hawaii News Now, there doesn’t appear to be any legal action that could come as consequence. Check out the comments that follow the HuffPost Hawaii post, including this one:

You folks are missing the point.. In hawaiian culture sharks are revered. you respect them. By disrespecting this paticular animal these men showed total disregard for the hawaiian way of life. To some of the locals this act was akin to urinating on the Koran or Bible.
