The growing population has far fewer undocumented immigrants, but are detained and deported at higher rates.
The study, by the University of Hawaii and the Migration Policy Institute, unveiled an array of unique challenges Mexicans face in the Aloha State. 
One of its primary recommendations was for Mexico to open a Hawaii consulate
