There’s been another molasses spill, this time at Kahului Harbor on Maui. An underground pipe was leaking for a couple of minutes, according to Duane Kim, who manages the harbor for the state Department of Transporation. 

The pipeline was shutdown Sunday and a work crew was at the scene, he said. 

Information as to how much molasses was spilled was not immediately available.

The spill comes less than two months after a molasses pipeline broke in Honolulu Harbor spilling 233,000 gallons of the thick, sugary substance into the water and killing tens of thousands of fish and other sea life. Matson, which is responsible for the pipeline, is facing multiple investigations and potential fines for that spill.
