A plan for a new mall in West Oahu is one step closer to becoming reality.
The Hawaiian Homes Commission decided Thursday to extend its lease to DeBartolo Development by another 12 months.
The company is planning to build a 1.4 million square foot shopping center in Kapolei.
The mall would be the first regional shopping center in the state in 30 years and the third largest mall in Hawaii.
