Marilyn Lee has filed papers with the Office of Elections for the District 36 seat in the Hawaii House of Representatives

Lee, a Democrat, served as the representative for Mililani, Mililani Mauka and Waipio Acres for 16 years.

“I firmly believe my experience in state government as an effective legislator, and my accomplishments in the community speak to my qualifications as a candidate for this office,” Lee said in a press release.

Another Democrat, Luella Toledo Costales, has filed papers for the race. Incumbent Beth Fukumoto, a Republican who defeated Lee in 2012, has pulled papers for re-election.
