A new study analyzing poverty and income inequality in U.S. counties concluded that Hawaii County has high levels of poverty and inequality.

The report by the Population Reference Bureau also found that while Maui County has relatively low poverty rates, it has high inequality.

But it’s not all bad news for Hawaii. The report noted that Honolulu and Kauai both have low levels of poverty and inequality, and that Hawaii has low inequality compared with other states.

Nationwide, income inequality has increased in every state since 1979.Click here to read the full report.
