The Maui News has this tasty item on television, food, travel and Molokai. Excerpt:

Emmy-award winning television host and chef Anthony Bourdain visited Molokai last week to film an episode of his CNN show, “Parts Unknown,” according to reports from residents.

Molokai activist Guy Hanohano Naehu posted a picture of himself with Bourdain on his Facebook page Thursday, with a caption that reads: “Filming with Anthony Bourdain was an amazing experience! …

Bourdain arrived on the Friendly Isle on Tuesday and left Thursday, residents said. A picture posted on Bourdain’s official Facebook page Friday morning indicated he was on Maui at the time.

When asked in a phone interview Thursday whether residents had any qualms about thrusting the Friendly Isle into a global spotlight, Naehu said, “Not really.”

“Our situation is so bad that this can only help,” Naehu said. “We doing stuff we do for eat, and we gotta protect what we eat and what we love. That was the story that came from our people and our place. …”

The Maui News adds that Bourdain and film crew also met with political activist Walter Ritte during a backyard luau at Keawanui Fishpond.
