Gov. David Ige on Thursday announced his nominations for the state Board of Education and the Land Use Commission.
The appointments are subject to confirmation by the Senate.
Dawn Chang and Gary Okuda are the LUC picks.
Chang, says the administration, served 14 years as deputy attorney general with the Land/Transportation Division and was counsel to state boards and commissions such as the Land Board and Water Commission.
Okuda has practiced law in Hawaii since 1981, “specializing in diverse real estate matters.”
Ige previously appointed Nancy Cabral.
Commissioner Kent Hiranaga’s term ends June 30, while Commissioner Chad McDonald is in a holdover position until a replacement takes his seat.
The governor also reappointed Commissioner Jonathan Scheuer, a vice chair, whose current term expires June 30.
Former educator Patricia Bergin and former news reporter Bruce Voss have been appointed to the BOE.
Vice Chair Brian De Lima’s term ends June 30. The same goes for Amy Asselbaye and Patricia Halagao.
