Five states have legalized medical aid in dying for terminally ill people who choose the option of their own accord, and 12 more are considering it.

Is Hawaii ready to join the movement? Advocates think so.

Barbara Coombs Lee, national president of Compassion & Choices, and Mary Steiner, the organization’s Hawaii campaign manager, join host Chad Blair and Opinion Editor Todd Simmons to talk about the issue.

A publish discussion, “End of Life Options and Dying with Dignity: Next Steps,” will be hosted by the Interfaith Alliance Hawaii and presented by Compassion & Choices Hawaii on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at First Unitarian Church of Honolulu.
