At a time when President Donald Trump is referring to the news media as “enemies of the American people,” Boston Globe reporter Sacha Pfeiffer visits with the Civil Beat staff and joins Pod Squad host Chad Blair to talk about the volatile state of the Fourth Estate.

Pfeiffer was part of the Globe’s Spotlight investigative team that won the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service in 2003 for its work in exposing the Roman Catholic Church’s cover-up of clergy sex abuse. That work was documented in the 2015 film, “Spotlight,” which last year won the Oscar for Best Picture.
