There are four candidates on the ballot for the Central Oʻahu seat.

The seat for State House District 39 that includes Royal Kunia, Village Park, Honouliuli, Ho‘opili and a portion of Waipahu, has four candidates lining up to replace Rep. Elijah Pierick.

After prevailing in a lawsuit over the 2024 election result to serve in the House, Pierick — a Republican — has thrown his hat in the ring for the vacant seat in State Senate District 19 that represents parts of Central and West Oʻahu.

The ballot in District 39 features two Republican candidates and two Democratic candidates.

All of the registered candidates filled out a survey from Civil Beat, outlining their views on improving public schools, term limits and how they would ensure their district was better prepared for extreme weather events. They also answered one question from a constituent about interisland shipping.

Their responses are linked here in alphabetical order under their official ballot name, which you can also compare all in one spot on Civil Beat’s 2026 Hawaiʻi Primary Ballot.
