Caylie Watson is a community engagement intern for Honolulu Civil Beat. She attends the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa, majoring in journalism. She was raised in ʻEwa Beach before relocating to Germany, then returned to Oʻahu to complete high school at Island Pacific Academy in Kapolei. She has written articles for the Mānoa Mirror, a student publication. Among her stories she has written about the popularity of mopeds among college students in Mānoa, issues with the university’s parking text notifications, and other commuter related articles. At Civil Beat, Caylie will assist with event management and execute the newsroom’s social media strategy. During her free time, she is usually at the beach with friends.
