Elsie Kamanu is a ninth grader at Kamehameha Schools in Honolulu. She is a recent graduate of the Ka‘āmauloa Educational Pathway, a two-year global politics course that puts the youth of Hawaii at the center by connecting the islands’ 1,000-year-old culture of sustainability (He Nohona ‘Ae‘oia) to the United Nations Global Goals.
