5 More Maui Wildfire Victims Identified

The official casualty number remains at 114.

The Maui Police Department released Sunday the names of five more victims of the fires of Aug. 8.

The department said the following people had been identified and their next of kin notified.

  1. Conchita Sagudang, 75, of Lahaina
  2. Danilo Sagudang, 55, of Lahaina
  3. Rodolfo Rocutan, 76, of Lahaina
  4. Jonathan Somaoang, 76, of Lahaina
  5. Angelita Vasquez, 88, of Lahaina

This brings the total of identified victims to 11.

There remain another 16 individuals who have been identified, but whose family has not been located and/or notified. “MPD and assisting partners have been working tirelessly to ensure that proper protocols are followed while notifying the families of the victims involved,” the release said.
