Meet Civil Beat staff at the Hilo Public Library.
Big Island readers will be able to talk story with Civil Beat staff on Wednesday at our latest pop-up newsroom in Hilo.
The event starts at 11 a.m. and runs until 5 p.m. at the Hilo Public Library at 300 Waianuenue Ave.
Our pop-up newsrooms are a chance to suggest local story ideas and connect with our team.
Please help us spread the word about the event among your friends, family and neighbors. We’d love to meet them.
We’re adding new pop-up events to the calendar regularly and you can follow the dates on our website.
You can also read stories that started out as conversations at our pop-up events.
The traveling newsroom events are supported by the Hawaii Community Foundation.

What it means to support Civil Beat.
Supporting Civil Beat means you’re investing in a newsroom that can devote months to investigate corruption. It means we can cover vulnerable, overlooked communities because those stories matter. And, it means we serve you. And only you.
Donate today and help sustain the kind of journalism Hawaiʻi cannot afford to lose.
