The Hawaii Public Housing Authority has extended the deadline to sign up online for the agency’s website or lose their spot on the list.

The Housing Authority sent letters to nearly 14,000 people on their wait list in March urging them to sign up on a new applicant portal by April 30.

But nonprofit groups and applicants worried that wasn’t enough time for applicants, many of whom are homeless, disabled or may need interpreters to understand the English-only website.

The Housing Authority said it initially extended the deadline until the end of May. The new deadline is June 15. Click here for more information.
