Our next two pop-up newsrooms will be on Maui.

The Kihei Public Library on Maui is the location of the next Civil Beat pop-up newsroom on Tuesday Nov. 28 from noon to 7 p.m.

Members of Civil Beat’s reporting and business teams will be working out of space in the library and available to meet and talk story with the community.

Bring your story ideas and help inform our future reporting about Maui and elsewhere.

Since the August wildfires, we’ve expanded our coverage of the Valley Isle by focusing more of our journalists on Maui full-time. We plan to report on community recovery and government accountability over the long haul.

Our next pop-up newsroom will also be on Maui when the team will be Upcountry at the Makawao Public Library on Tuesday, Dec. 5 starting from 10 a.m.

This project is supported by the Hawaii Community Foundation and the League of Women Voters of Honolulu Education Fund.

What it means to support Civil Beat.

Supporting Civil Beat means you’re investing in a newsroom that can devote months to investigate corruption. It means we can cover vulnerable, overlooked communities because those stories matter. And, it means we serve you. And only you.

Donate today and help sustain the kind of journalism Hawaiʻi cannot afford to lose.
