We’re looking forward to meeting our readers on Maui.
The Civil Beat newsroom will be setting up for the day at the Kihei Public Library on Friday between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
This will be your chance to meet reporters and editors from our team, ask questions about our journalism and suggest new story ideas for Civil Beat. The staff planning to attend include politics editor Chad Blair and reporters Cammy Clark, Blaze Lovell and Nick Grube.
The Kihei Public Library at 35 Waimahaihai St. The event is free so please share the details with your networks.
There’s a busy schedule of pop-up newsrooms in May and June which we update regularly on our website and you can read all the stories inspired by our pop-up events here.
This project is supported by the Hawaii Community Foundation.

What it means to support Civil Beat.
Supporting Civil Beat means you’re investing in a newsroom that can devote months to investigate corruption. It means we can cover vulnerable, overlooked communities because those stories matter. And, it means we serve you. And only you.
Donate today and help sustain the kind of journalism Hawaiʻi cannot afford to lose.
