And Josh Green ranks sixth most popular among U.S. governors, according to a national marketing research firm.
Morning Consult reported Wednesday that Democrat Brian Schatz has the highest approval rating of all U.S. senators — 65%. Just 24% disapprove.
Bernie Sanders, the independent of Vermont, was close behind at 64%. Hawaii’s other senator, Democrat Mazie Hirono, ranked as eighth-most popular with a 60% approval rating.
Surveys were conducted Jan. 1-March 31 among representative samples of registered voters in each state.

Morning Consult is a business intelligence company that does a lot of market research and is featured frequently in nationally media reports.
The most unpopular senators are Republican Mitch McConnell (Kentucky) and Democrat Joe Manchin (West Virginia), both with disapproval ratings much higher than approval.
Morning Consult also has fresh numbers on governors. The most popular (78%) is Republican Phil Scott of Vermont. Hawaii’s Josh Green ranks sixth-most popular (62%), just ahead of Republican Sarah Huckabee Sanders of Arkansas (61%).
On another front, President Joe Biden is unpopular in 40 states, but they don’t include Hawaii, California, Maryland and Vermont, where his net approval rating is above 50%.
And 53% of potential GOP primary voters said they would support former President Donald Trump, but that is down from a high of 57% earlier this month “in the wake of his arraignment in Manhattan.”
