The League of Conservation Voters has released a new poll that shows one high-profile Hawaii incumbent staying in office and another one packing up.

On Monday, the national environmental group released the results of a survey done by Public Policy Polling that shows U.S. Sen. Brian Schatz leading U.S. Rep. Colleen Hanabusa by a 10-point margin for the upcoming Aug. 9 primary.

That same poll also shows Hawaii State Sen. David Ige leading Gov. Neil Abercrombie by 10 points in what would surely be a major upset if the results hold.

It should be noted that the League of Conservation Voters endorsed Schatz early on, even before Hanabusa officially entered the race.

The group has also launched a television ad campaign on behalf of the sitting senator, appointed to replace the late U.S. Sen. Daniel K. Inouye, who died in December 2012.
