Dental Care
Coverage options available
Hawaii’s seniors need affordable dental health coverage options (Letters: “Dental Care: How About Some Help for Needy Seniors?” Oct. 8).
Fortunately, Medicare’s annual enrollment period runs now through Dec. 7, 2018 — a time when seniors age 65 and older can sign up for new health benefits or change their existing coverage, which begins on Jan. 1, 2019.

For those looking for additional benefits such as dental, ‘Ohana Health Plan offers seniors Medicare Advantage plans in Hawaii.
In addition to the benefits of Original Medicare, MA plans offer seniors affordable benefits such as vision, hearing and dental, among others.
At ‘Ohana Health Plan, we are committed to helping Hawaii’s seniors access the best possible care to help them make informed health decisions, remain active and independent, and live a full and active lifestyle.

Incompetence, abuse alleged at DHHL
While I am a week late in the response to a recent story ((“Kauai: Prominent Native Hawaiian Activist Arrested At Encampment,” Oct. 18) due to personal travel, today is probably a very appropriate day to voice my response to you, as we homesteaders gather in unison, unrelated to the Anahola incident, across the state in a peaceful rally to protest the state Department of Hawaiian Home Lands incompetence and abuse of its responsibilities to the Hawaiian Homelands Trust.
