Medical workers and patients traveling to hospitals on other islands are eligible for free return flights home on Hawaii’s new private air charter and air ambulance service.
Wing Spirit, a high-speed, luxury jet charter, is funding $1 million in flights for eligible patients and staff of Queen’s Health Systems, Hawaii Pacific Health and Kaiser.

The program aims to help improve hospital bed capacity during the coronavirus outbreak by streamlining the patient discharge process. It will also allow physicians to travel to the neighbor islands with more flexibility given the reduction in the number of commercial flights between the islands.
The medical travel relief money will be available through the end of April.
In a press release, Wing Spirit said its medically equipped air ambulance plane and its private charter jets are safer, more comfortable and faster than commercial aircrafts.
