In all, 37 officers had disciplinary actions finalized last year and another 31 had grievances pending or in arbitration, according to a legislative report.

Other officers on scene said the off-duty detective was “code black,” police jargon for when someone is totally out of control.

Officer Mason Jordan left the force in 2021 as he was under investigation. He was later arrested on separate charges related to the sexual exploitation of children.
