A dozen land sales in and around Lahaina were recorded in the first four months of this year.

The timeline to rebuild Lahaina remains uncertain, and it’s caused some local families to look for lots nearby.

While there had been fears that the fire would facilitate a Lahaina land grab, a prominent Maui realtor said she’s not seeing a huge increase in mainland buyers of either fire-damaged lots or other land available to build on.
