Food truck parking is the subject of the first bill of the new year that was introduced by the Honolulu City Council.

On Jan. 3, Council Chair Ernie Martin introduced Bill 1 to set parameters for parking food trucks on city streets.

The proposal would force food venders — or “hucksters” — to get permits for their vehicles from the director of transportation services or risk getting towed.
