Critically acclaimed country musician and Maui home owner Willie Nelson is telling marijuana users to get your vote on before you get your toke on.
Nelson, a long-time proponent of cannabis, knows that if people want to continue to consume marijuana without risk of criminal prosecution, then they must vote for legalization measures.
Just make sure you vote first lest you get sidetracked by a bag of Doritos and forget.
Maui resident and award-winning musician Willie Nelson says vote first, smoke after.
“If it’s the day to go vote, make sure you go vote before you burn one down. Don’t get high and forget to vote.” Nelson said in an interview with CelebStoner News.
Nelson believes the legalization of marijuana and the subsequent market it would create could generate a lot of money and help the economy.
“There’s a lot of money in selling marijuana. If you can do it legally, that’s good. Why should all the criminals make the money? This is what people are thinking. If it’s happening, if it’s going to be legal, let’s tax it and regulate it, like we do with everything else and make some money off this. I think that’s one reason why people are taking this a little more seriously.” Nelson said.
In other words, Maui Wowie would probably fetch a high price on the open market just like on the black market.
The musician, actor and author is a man of many passions. He also advocates for the use of biofuels and even has his own biofuel company, Willie Nelson Biodiesel.
