Honolulu Prosecuting Attorney Keith Kaneshiro has accepted the resignation of Deputy Prosecutor Jon Riki Karamatsu.
As our media partner KITV reports, Karamatsu was arrested early Saturday morning near the intersection of Ala Moana Boulevard and Hobron Lane on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
Police say Karamatsu refused to take a breathalyzer test.
It’s the second time since 2007 that Karamatsu was arrested for drunken driving.
Back then, he was serving as vice speaker of the state House of Representatives.
