An acting chancellor in Nevada and the director of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture have been selected as the two finalists for UH Manoa’s chancellor position.

John Valery White and Sonny Ramaswamy will participate in a final round of interviews, and students, faculty and staff will be able to meet them during open forums in the Architecture Auditorium on Nov. 15 and 22 as part of their two-day visits to the campus.

The finalists were selected by the campus’ Chancellor Search Advisory Committee, which began its work in April.

White is the acting chancellor of the Nevada System of Higher Education and previously served as the University of Nevada Las Vegas strategic advisor to the president and executive vice president and provost.

Ramaswamy is the director of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture and previously served as a dean at Oregon State University and director and associate dean at Purdue University.
