Jonathan Martin

Jonathan Martin was the Managing Editor for Honolulu Civil Beat.

He came to Honolulu from Seattle, where he was an editor, reporter and columnist for more than two decades at The Seattle Times. As investigations editor, he led a team that examined wasteful public spending, abuses in special education classrooms and failures in the criminal justice system.

He was part of a team won a Pulitizer Prize for breaking news, and co-wrote a book, The Other Side of Mercy, with Ken Armstrong. He has written or edited dozens of stories that won national or regional awards.
