Gov. Neil Abercrombie just got home from a vacation in France, but he travels a lot for work, too. What sort of state business is he doing? The problem is that Hawaii’s taxpayers can’t easily check up on their governor’s travels because the cost of looking at the records in Hawaii is prohibitive. A bill for $1,016 has given Civil Beat pause and prompted political cartoonist John Pritchett’s artwork this week.
