John Pritchett

State Rep. Tom Brower, a Democrat, made national news this week when he demonstrated to news crews how he takes a sledgehammer to shopping carts used by homeless people, apparently as a way to convince them to move along and not clutter up public areas. His get-tough attitude appears to have backfired and on Tuesday he announced he would leave his sledgehammer home when haranguing homeless people he thinks shouldn’t be wherever he thinks they shouldn’t be. Political cartoonist John Pritchett was struck (pun intended) by Brower’s misguided attempt to be Honolulu’s superhero.
